This is adulthood. And the sad truth is, as you get older, you're silently expected to gain a new skill of keeping more and more silent about pretty much everything that isn't commonplace. It is kind of like 1984. Militant. I just imagine that when someone says "how are you" they aren't asking, but it is more of a salute. and your response isn't to answer, but to salute back with one of a few preapproved phrases. "fine, sir!"

"As a kid, I grew up wanting to be a rock star. You always see how some mediocre guitarist's mansion is for sale for $2,000,000 or how some one hit wonder got lucky and sold 10 million albums.
But music isn't a business anymore. Somehow, there are a couple musicians who make all the money, and none of the others get crap. I've found myself in a position where I've worked with some of my all time favorite musicians. The ones I grew up listening to and learning every note they ever recorded. There is one band in particular that stands out. The singer works at the Subway near my work. The guitarist's primary job is selling lumber.
